Iron Armor — Core Set

Iron Armor — Materials: 25 Iron + 10 Leather + 5 Cloth. Tip: Craft before Volcano Island. Iron from Shipwreck Island after Desert Island Sand Worm gate. Leather from hunts and Grinder recycling. Cloth from Jungle Island gathering.

Iron Armor is the non-negotiable armor check for Lava Guardian fire damage and Volcano environmental fire ticks. Partial armor pieces underperform — complete the set before summon. Soldier (+15% defense) and Shield + Sword starter multiply effective HP.

Hero class (70 Pearls) starts with Iron Armor + Sword — immediate Volcano readiness if Pearls available. Otherwise farm Shipwreck Iron after Ghost Captain prep per islands route order.

Armor by Island Hazard

Starter Island / Jungle Island: no armor required — focus Wooden Raft and Bonfire food sustain.

Desert Island: leather tier optional for Sand Worm chip damage — Medkits more critical than armor.

Shipwreck Island: begin Iron Armor crafting during Ghost Captain farming — Iron nodes same island.

Volcano Island: full Iron Armor mandatory. Fire resist food from Bonfire supplements armor — not replaces it.

Ice Island: Iron Armor plus warm food counters cold drain. Frost Giant slams still hurt — Soldier tank recommended.

Kraken Zone / Bermuda Island: Iron Armor minimum floor. S-tier class stats and Medkit stocks extend effective durability.

Defense Class and Companion Synergy

Soldier (+15% defense, Shield + Sword): premier armor multiplier — face-tank Lava Guardian while Sharpshooter DPS.

Hero (+10% all stats): defense subset of all-stats bonus — balanced armor scaling every boss.

Battle Bunny (+20% dodge, +15% speed): evasion alternative to Soldier — Ghost Captain dodge phases.

Turtle (+5% max health) and Whale (+7.5% health) companions stack effective HP with Iron Armor.

Medic (+15% health regen) repairs chip damage between boss phases — armor plus regen beats armor alone on Frost Giant.

Armor Crafting Timeline

Days 15–20: arrive Shipwreck Island, begin Iron gathering for Ghost Captain weapon and armor concurrently.

Days 20–25: complete Iron Sword and Flintlock Pistol before full armor if DPS short — but finish Iron Armor before Volcano sail.

Days 25–30: verify full Iron Armor on every co-op member before Lava Guardian summon per co op strategy.

Days 40+: no higher armor tier in base crafting list — Ancient Relics from Bermuda Island feed endgame mods post-Entity.

Camper class builds Container Shelter on raft — protects inventory but not player HP. Armor still required for combat islands.

Common Armor Mistakes

Skipping Shipwreck for Volcano: Iron Armor impossible without Shipwreck Iron — route order on map is fixed.

Partial Iron Armor set: Volcano fire tick penetrates incomplete sets — craft full recipe.

Ignoring warm food on Ice Island: armor does not stop cold environmental drain — Bonfire meals required.

Kraken without armor: Scoped Rifle DPS dies in one tentacle slap without Iron Armor — co-op wipe risk.

Millionaire Luxury Yacht instead of armor Pearls: 60 Pearl yacht does not replace Iron Armor for boss gates.
